What are the steps to getting a pardon in Canada?

I am from Canada. I had a DUI and 'leaving the scene of an accident' charges last year. For some reason I am unable to cross the border into the US, because of those charges. My Nexus card has been revoked as well. How exactly do you apply for a pardon? How long do I have to wait before I am able to cross a bridge into the US?
